Outreach and Education

Educational programs and early detection opportunities are a key component of the services we provide as we seek to promote the overall health and well-being of the residents of Northwest Arkansas. Hope Cancer Resources offers programs to increase awareness of high-risk behaviors, early warning signs, symptoms, available treatments and support services.

In addition, Hope Cancer Resources provides cancer screenings, and hereditary risk assessments free of charge in order to promote early detection, offering a better chance for a cure. Hope Cancer Resources has benefited from grants from the Cancer Challenge and the Ozark Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure in support of these educational and screening programs.

Northwest Arkansas Cancer Registry

The primary goal of the Cancer Registry is to improve care to cancer patients. Cancer Registry data are used to identify populations at increased risk of cancer, investigate public concerns of suspected excesses of cancer due to environmental or other factors, and monitor trends in cancer incidence and mortality so that appropriate and timely interventions are undertaken. The NWA Cancer Registry is the largest regional cancer registry in the state of Arkansas.
